Technically not a mixed media work, this is an early architectural study done in 2011 examining the structural qualities of one specific material, in this case copper wire. This particular piece is one of several generated from that week-long exercise in materiality but ultimately proved to be the most successful out of all the others in terms of its potential as a stand-alone sculptural piece. It would eventually go on to inform the basis for the “Performance” mixed media schematic design series later that same year.
